Simple Ways to Treat Sunburn

Your exposure to sun can lead to various skin rashes, blisters and sunburn. Excessive sun exposure can not only darken your skin but also cause wrinkles, fine lines and skin damage. Though, if there are blisters, you definitely need medical attention but for mild sunburn and sun tan, you can easily try out the following methods:

Vinegar- This is an excellent household ingredient that helps to treat sunburn. For best results, you can dab a small clean towel or a piece of cotton in vinegar and apply it on the affected area. The best way to get relief from sunburn is to bathe in cold or lukewarm water. So, add 2 to 3 cups of vinegar in your bathing water. This will treat sunburn effectively. In fact, a mixture of lavender and vinegar is also helpful in treating sunburns.

Tomatoes- you can make a paste of ¼ tomato and mix it with ½ cup of buttermilk and apply it on the affected area. Mashed tomatoes are also effective. For better results, you can simply mix the juice of tomato in bathing water. This will not only remove the tan but also leave your skin hydrated and glowing.

Aloe Vera Gel- This is widely available in the market. You can also use fresh aloe vera gel by growing an aloe vera plant in your garden. This will definitely give effective results.

Cold Water for Painful Sunburn- If you have painful sunburns, the best way to treat it is to apply ice bags. For better results, you can easily pack the ice cubes in a towel and apply it on your skin. This will also reduce the redness and leave your skin glowing and hydrated. In addition, try to spritz chilled water on your face for better results.

Egg whites- You can mix egg whites with 1 tablespoon of honey for lightening of sun tan. Raw egg whites also brings great results.

Refrigerate Tea bags- Wrap refrigerated tea bags in a towel and apply it on the affected area. This will lighten the darkening of the skin. You can also mix numerous refrigerated tea bags in your bathing water and use it. Black Tea- Take three bags of black tea and fill a pitcher with lukewarm water. Soak the tea bags in the water. Now, dab a towel in this warm water and apply it on the affected area. You can leave it overnight and wash it off the next morning. This is indeed a great and one of the most trusted ways to treat sunburn.

Milk- Dab small towels in milk and apply it on your skin. In fact, you can also mix one cup of milk in your cold bathing water. This will soothe the sun burn and blisters and leave your skin hydrated and healthy.

Potatoes- Slices of potatoes also treats sun tan.
