However, it has been a while since we last seen our Mother Monster come out with another outrageous look. Not sure why she has gone towards the make-under route lately, but a lot of people seem to like this new, toned-down Lady Gaga. Even on the red carpet, she made a change. It was this night, the 2015 Grammy Awards, that turned things around for Lady Gaga in the fashion world. She had all of our eyes on her again, but this time in a good way. Unlike the typical red carpet appearance we are all used to seeing from her, the star came out with a refreshing, new look. The 29-year-old pop star stepped out to music’s biggest night in silver glamour, showing off her legs in a high-slit dress and almost the “babies” in a super, plunging neckline. Her metallic gown was Brandon Maxwell accompanied by some Lorraine Schwartz jewels and silver, strappy sandals. The designer of her dress has worked with the “Alejandro” singer before so it looks like they both had a meeting and wanted something different from a meat dress for this night. They succeeded. This glam look of Lady Gaga’s at the Grammys speaks superstar, pop sensation, sexy and music idol – everything the singer stands for.
Sleek and simple, the “Telephone” singer is seen here in all navy blue with a pop of fur down to her tippy toes. We assume the pink furry detail is just a little touch of Gaga to spice things up with this casual outfit. The pink might not go with the rest of the navy blue outfit, let alone fur, but for the unique sense of fashion Lady Gaga usually has, this is an exception. Not only is it casual, but it also compliments her curves well.
Her healthy figure is due to some spinning and yoga, according to Life & Style magazine. The Mother Monster is engaged to actor Taylor Kinney, so she is probably getting ready to say her “I do’s.” Gaga has been reportedly taking her exercise regime seriously and going to the gym when her busy schedule allows her to. 9. Hamptons Bound
Out and about in the Hamptons, Gaga or more like Stefani here, is bringing out her classy side in this black-fitted dress, black heels, bag and sunnies. Nothing against her usual creative style, but the “Paparazzi” singer is almost unrecognizable in this photo and looks amazing! Her wavy blonde locks also helps her toned-down look and that cute smile of hers doesn’t hurt either. Seriously, this is how Lady Gaga should dress all the time. The singer is adding acting to her resume and this new look for sure speaks “actress.” She just debuted her role on American Horror Story as Countess Elizabeth and according to the series’ costume designer, Lou Eyrich, in an interview with Refinery29, Elizabeth’s style was influenced by Gaga’s personal style. Eyrich described Elizabeth’s style as “elegant” and “sexy” so we can see how Mother Monster’s fashion statement in this photo has something to do with her character on AHS.
8. Airport Flow
Lady Gaga was spotted at JFK airport in New York City on Tuesday, Oct. 6 2015 wearing a Judas Priest t-shirt, cut-off light wash jean shorts, and open-toed stilettos. This is definitely one of the singer’s most casual looks. Of course, maybe some black converse would have been the most ideal shoes to wear with the rest of the outfit, but she had to add some Gaga in to her laid-back look and she did it really well.
Perhaps she was feeling cozy at home since New York is where the star was born. In an interview with Star Tribune in 2009, Gaga says that she used to get made fun of in school for being “too eccentric” and “too provocative” so she toned it down a little bit. Seems like the “Poker Face” singer is at it again trying out this casual look in her career.
7. Ridin’ Dirty
Can she be any cuter? This is probably the most normal we have ever seen of Lady Gaga. Not only is she simply dressed in black yoga leggings and a black crop top with sneakers, but she’s also just coolly riding her bike like a lot of regular humans do. Also, aside from her all black, low-key attire, check out those abs and her natural brunette hair! The AHS actress is looking a lot like Stefani Germanotta as opposed to her stage name. She certainly is unrecognizable while getting her workout in Marbella, Spain on a sunny afternoon.
Speaking of her working out, the 29-year-old is known for showing off her curves and not being afraid to stand out in an industry where most singers of her type display a more thin figure. She usually posts unfiltered pics of herself on her Instagram looking all natural from her make-up free face to her untouched body. Ironically, underneath all those outrageous costumes is just a naturally, beautiful woman; another reason to love Lady Gaga.
6. Plaid Kind of Day
Lady Gaga’s greaser style here speaks for a lot of her fans as the star dresses in a red plaid top with black, laced up boots. A good amount of her fanbase tend to fall under the “greaser” and “rockabilly” category of style and it looks like the “Bad Romance” singer is just blending in. She pulled off yet another casual look, tweaking it with a little bit of her own taste by wearing these grungy heel combat boots and her pin-up hair curls. While out in Los Angeles at the Chateau Marmont Hotel, the fashionista was in the middle of a Twitter war with her former friend, Perez Hilton.
According to a series of tweets, Gaga was accusing of Hilton stalking her but the gossip reporter denied those accusations. Regardless, the singer still looked good even with all the drama, but perhaps she did tone it down because of all the tension that was going on.
5. Casual In Gaga Form
With her laced-up combat boots, the “Born This Way” singer is true to her fashion taste no matter what. This is a toned-down look for the Lady Gaga we usually see, but she decided to show a little of her rebellious side to make it more her. By flashing a bra underneath this fishnet top, the fashion idol certainly sticks to her true, stylish ways. Although the all-black outfit shows some of Gaga’s more loose side, it is overall a really low-key look for her.
While walking the streets in New York City over the weekend, she paired up her fishnet top with black shorts underneath a black mini-skirt, topping it all off with some sunnies and a black, leather bag. Her hair was also pulled back, going for a more natural, laid-back look. One thing that is noticeably missing from her outfit is a pop of jewelry and what looks like a make-up free Gaga. However, that is not to say without those pieces her look didn’t work, because it did.
4. On The Streets Of France
Yes, this is not the most conservative look, but it is one of her most dressed-down looks we have seen her in. After all, the “Edge of Glory” singer always likes to spice things up her way while still trying to maintain it casual. In this case, she for sure pulled it off. Wearing just a bandeau bra with high-waist denim shorts along with black boots, the Artpop singer looks laid-back, on her way to lunch while in France like no big deal. That is Lady Gaga for you.
Although it is not the most conventional, this bandeau look is a big step from her machine gun bra days. She is also strutting down, showing off her healthy figure with her noticeable abs and thick thighs. Along with her figure and clothes, her hair is making its own statement. Tied up in what appears half up and half down, as a red head the “You and I” singer looks comfortable on her way to grub as she walks the streets of France.
3. The Edge Of Glory
This just works one hundred percent of the way. She really is on the edge of glory. Lady Gaga was striking at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party in 2014. Almost like her 2015 Grammy’s look, the “Marry the Night” singer came out in her own glamorous form looking like a pop sensation. She wore an Atelier Versace dress which was a dress change from her initial gown at the party. Again, very Lady Gaga to switch things up. The dress could not have complimented her curvy figure any better.
With her healthy curves, who needs a meat dress anyways? Her Versace gown had see-through cut-outs and a glittery tone all the way down. Her jewelry was also settled compared to the past, with metallic bracelets and two matching rings, one on each hand. With her platinum locks and on point pose, the actress reminded everyone of classic old Hollywood glam.
2. Do What You Want
Sporting a rebellious look, Lady Gaga is spotted out and about wearing a casual tee, tucked under denim shirts paired up with high-top, laced-up leather boots and topping it off with some retro shades. Sounds like Gaga right? However, it’s a more toned-down, rebellious look of Gaga that everyone is loving more than her bandeau bra look in France. The most important thing though is that she looks happy. Maybe we can just finally see her actual face and smile because she’s in more dressed-down outfits these days.
It seems, though, the over-the-top celebrity always likes to tweak her low-key outfits a bit with her shoes. From heels with fur to leather, laced-up boots, Gaga manages to keep her signature look while keeping it cool and casual. The 29-year-old makes a casual look so exciting to pull off. Her street style represents a more down to earth and mature Lady Gaga in the fashion world. Although, she is an iconic figure in the fashion industry, and we believe she will keep making extreme style choices in the future, hopefully she keeps it up with her street wear because we are surely loving it.
1. Born This Way
As we said before, Lady Gaga’s more toned-down appearance is not only seen on the streets, but also on the red carpet. From her green crystal covered bustier at the 2010 Grammy Awards to this elegant, black gown at the 2014 Vanity Fair Oscar Party, our Mother Monster has come a long way. Gaga showed up at the party with her third outfit change for the night wearing a sheer gown with a long train by Alaia. The entertainer killed it with this appearance with the right balance of her signature, rebellious style and a touch of elegance.
Overall, she looked stunning and sexy at the same time. While Lady Gaga can pull off the same sexy look any day, the Lady Gaga of old would do it in a wilder manner, and let’s just say, we prefer her to do it more naturally like this more often. Even though it’s obvious her less exciting looks are more favorable than her distinctive ones, Lady Gaga’s unique style is what makes her who she is and we certainly wouldn’t want another Mother Monster than the one we already have.
